A: Physical activity, diet and medications are the keys to treating diabetes. The American Diabetes Association recommends 30 minutes of moderate exercise five days a week. Your physical therapist will perform an evaluation, including a review of your medical history and medications. They will then prescribe an individualized exercise program and help you manage exercise precautions.
